4 reasons why we include cranberry in our pet foods

Cranberry is an amazing, versatile little super-fruit with well documented benefits to us humans. However, did you know it can also be beneficial to our canine and feline friends? Here are four reasons why we include it in our pet food recipes:

1. It naturally contains a substance called D-mannose which may help prevent harmful bacteria from sticking to the urinary tract lining.

2. It also contains arbutin, which is effective against certain bacteria and fungi, including Candida. By limiting these harmful bacteria, conditions such as cystitis and bladder stones may be less likely to affect your pet.

3. Cranberries are also a rich natural source of antioxidants which may help to safeguard against the potentially harmful effects of free radicals.

4. They also have antiviral properties!

Adding cranberry extract to our recipes won't guarantee your pet will never suffer from urinary tract problems because no matter how well you nourish your pet he or she may still be susceptible to illness. However, it's a safe and natural ingredient that does have some great nutritional properties.

Cranberries are super-nutritious for humans too, so why not add some juice to your grocery list this week?!
